The authentic, annual LA tradition of Brazilian Carnaval erupts on Saturday February 20, 2010 at Club Nokia/LA Live, transforming the massive dance floor into a true Brazilian party, for the first time in Downtown LA.

Give your special someone an experience this Valentine's Day. Flowers, chocolate, disappointing dinner out? NOT! The annual love-athon is on Sunday of a 3 day holiday weekend this year (President's Day is on Monday the 15th) which opens up many possibilities for planning a completely unique day or weekend...

JULY IN L.A. - FIREWORKS!
By Eye Spy LA Editor

In our safety obsessed society, where no hang nail goes unlitigated, normally cautious people become momentarily unhinged with delight at the thought of setting off a cherry bomb or some other illegal incendiary device on Independence Day. Yes it is that time of the year when we all become one with our inner pyromaniac. We just can't get enough fire, we want to shoot and blow things up in creative and colorful ways and do it all to the tune of a Sousa march. Don't be tempted to do it yourself - go to a public fireworks show - you'll find shows from Marina Del Rey to Pomona listed below. More can be found on the L.A. Fire Department's list - click here. Plus the Hollywood Bowl has shows on the 2nd & 3rd as well as the 4th. If you didn't get enough on the 4th, the Annual Lotus Festival in Echo Park will have fireworks on both Friday and Saturday that weekend and they'll have Dragon Boat Races too.

That should start July off with a bang! But what about the rest of the long weekend and the rest of the month? Scroll below for details and links for these events and more activities coming up in July.
