GRAND PERFORMANCES IN A GRAND SETTING
By Eye Spy LA

A grand reason to visit Downtown Los Angeles in the summer is to take in a Grand Performance at California Plaza. Presenting multiple free performances each week all summer long, Grand Performances are as diverse and eclectic as our city. And there is plenty to do and see nearby, making this a great staycation destination or a brilliant place to take out of town visitors.

Getting there: Go Metro to the Red Line Pershing Square station (exit toward 4th street) and ride the worlds shortest rail, the Angels Flight funicular, up to California Plaza. Or park your car under California Plaza (Olive & 4th) and ride Angels Flight.

What's nearby:
MOCA - Museum of Contemporary Art
Walt Disney Concert Hall - this landmark music hall is the latest addition to the Music Center and home to the L.A. Philharmonic. Even if you are not planning on attending a performance here, you can tour the building and the grounds - check out the secret garden on the 3rd level.
Music Center - as with many venues in L.A. there is always plenty going on here and many special events on the plaza that are free. This is also a great place to rest and people watch near the fountain with a snack or beverage.
Angels Flight - FUNicular and only 25 cents to ride.
