Reiki at 1st degree introduces students to the world of energy and how we function within it. What is energy? How do you use your energy? It teaches us that we are all energetic beings and enables us to connect to Universal Life Force energy.
Students participate in a sacred attunement ceremony which opens the channels of Reiki healing energy and connects the student to a lineage of Reiki Masters tracing back to the original founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui. In Reiki 1st degree, students learn how to scan the body's energy field and channel Reiki energy at will for self healing and the healing of others through a series of specific hand positions. Students learn about the chakras and how to work within and around this subtle energetic system in the body.
This level of Reiki encourages students to trust their own intuition so they may work effectively with Reiki energy for the purpose of self improvement, healing and as a method of achieving personal perfection in one's life. Students receive a book on Reiki (written and compiled by Julie Roberts) to be read prior to class. Certificates for Reiki 1st Degree certificates will be awarded to students following 30 days of self healing practice. Classes are generally taught on Saturdays, though Julie is open to teach other days as well.
