Free online workshop presented by the Elysian Valley Arts Collective and taught by renowned author, journalist, editor Rex Weiner with special guest poet, author, educator Shonda Buchanan.

About Shonda Buchanan:
Shonda Buchanan, a writer, educator and speaker, whose recent book “Black Indian-A Memoir” explores her family’s legacy of being African American with American Indian roots and how they dealt with societal ostracization and the consequences of their dual inheritance. NPR has named her book a “must read” of recent Black American literature. As an educator, she has taught Creative Writing, Composition and Critical Theory at Loyola Marymount University, Hampton University and William & Mary College for the past eighteen years. Rex Weiner: Rex is an investigative journalist writing for publications in the US and Europe. He's the author of the rock 'n' roll crime noir series "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" and he's also an editor, stage/screen writer. Rex is a co-founder and executive director of the Todos Santos Writers Workshop and serves on the Board of Trustees for Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice.
