Rose Hills to host 9th annual veterans resource fair and car and truck show for veterans, their families and communities

Today’s service men and women encounter a series of needs, including employment and housing assistance, addressing health treatment options, and other support services. To address these needs, veterans and their families are invited to participate in the ninth annual Veterans Resource Fair on Sunday, September 15 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary. This year’s theme is honoring women in the military. A Foundation for Women Warriors representative will say a few words about the organization supporting the women veteran community of Southern California.

Over 40 businesses and nonprofits will be on-site providing veterans, their families, and caregivers with essential information on a variety of veterans-related topics and resources. This free community event is open to the public and will take place inside Gate One at Mission Hills at Rose Hills, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA, 90601.

In addition to the Resource Fair, the annual Classic Car & Truck Show will feature classic pre-1980 muscle, vintage, and performance vehicles. Additional events will take place throughout the day including:

~Master of Ceremonies by Senator Bob J. Archuleta, a former Presidential Appointee and Pico Rivera city mayor, representing the 32nd Senate District, which includes portions of Los Angeles County and Orange County
~Family activities
~Live music featuring The Killer West Band
~Flag Retirement Ceremony presented by a local Boy Scout troop
~Food vendors such as El Tepeyac, Mr. Dog and Shaved Ice
