Join author, yoga teacher, and survivor Julie Peters for an intimate look into the process of recovering after sexual assault with her new book Want: 8 Steps to Recovering Desire, Passion, and Pleasure After Sexual Assault (Mango 2019). While most books about trauma focus on case studies from the perspective of a clinician, here Julie shares her real experience of trying to feel her feelings through the fog of trauma, the important role of rage and anger, how food became a recovery practice, and what love, sex, and dating look like after sexual assault. The book is full of useful tips and information for survivors, the people who love them, and anyone who wants to know what it's like to recover your spirit after someone tried to take it away.
