March Field Air Museum is proud to present an inaugural remembrance event titled “Beacons of Flight” on Wednesday evening, December 6, 2017. With festivities that begin at 4:15 p.m., the inspiring celebratory event will include the dramatic upward illumination of many of the 70 historic aircraft on the flight line in an effort to symbolically shine a spotlight on special people who have left us too soon. Open to everyone, interested community members are invited to honor someone special or memorialize a now-gone but not-forgotten loved one who has served as a beacon in their lives.
With a variety of options that range from an illuminating beacon shining brightly on an aircraft to a year-long memorial plaque, the beautiful celebration will include a unique opportunity for sponsoring individuals and businesses to share personal recollections of the individuals being honored. In addition, all museum guests will be able to see the names of those we cherish proudly displayed on a large screen as part of a moving “honor scroll.”
While the special “Beacons of Flight” evening event is free to attend, all gifts in honor or memory will benefit the March Field Air Museum and its continuing mission to promote an understanding of humanity’s reach for the skies and March Field’s pivotal role in the development of flight. For those wishing to make a gift in honor or memory of a loved one, please call 951-675-8322.
March Field Air Museum is a top-rated TripAdvisor attraction that is located alongside Interstate Highway 215 at Van Buren Boulevard, just south of downtown Riverside and adjacent to March Air Reserve Base. For more information about the Museum or the “Beacons of Flight” event, please call 951-902-5949 or visit www.MarchField.org.
