On Sunday, April 2nd, SoCal residents will join together in support of critically ill children and their families to participate in the Los Angeles Walk for Kids, a family-friendly, non-competitive 5k (3.1 miles) pledge event that raises awareness and funds for the life-changing services provided by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC). Built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child -- not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest -- RMHCSC serves as a lifeline for families with ill children when they need it most, providing a “home away from home” so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. No eligible family is ever turned away due to inability to pay.
100% of funds raised will directly support critically ill children and their families right here in the local community. RMHCSC serves families all across the Southland through six Ronald McDonald Houses located in Bakersfield, Inland Empire (Loma Linda), Long Beach, Los Angeles, Orange and Pasadena, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and the cost-free Camp Ronald McDonald For Good Times.
Follow the conversation on social media using #WalkforKids.
Since opening in 1980, the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House has provided comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California. Over 30,000 families from 45 countries have been able to stay in the House during their time of need.
NOTE: It is always a good idea to verify date, time, location and other information prior to going.
