ROCK ON FILM PRESENTS: THE DOORS
The Doors (1991) Screening + Psychedelic Rock Dance Party!

A special screening of Oliver Stone’s iconic film The Doors, based off the band’s career and centered around their infamous leader Jim Morrison, is coming to The Wiltern on Saturday, June 22! Watch the story of a tragic artist who lives fast and dies young against the background of Los Angeles and the soundtrack of an era.

The party continues after the screening when Strange Days takes the stage to play your favorite tracks by The Doors all night! Enjoy our taco bar vendors, drink themed cocktails and practice your poses for all the photo opps. Dressing up (especially with your best smolder) is highly encouraged. Light our fire.

More to be announced as we get closer to the screening!

ABOUT THE DOORS:
After a psychedelic experience in the California desert, Jim Morrison and his bandmates begin performing in Los Angeles and quickly become a sensation. However, when the temptations and realities of stardom leads him astray, the band starts to worry about their leader.

ABOUT ROCK ON FILM:
In 1987, the legendary rock concert promoter Bill Graham presented an 18-day “Rock on Film” festival at The Wiltern. The American Cinematheque’s 44 film salute to the great rock musicians of our time illustrates the development and influence of this once maligned style of film music.

In 2019, The Wiltern is bringing Graham’s legacy and Rock on Film back to where it all started.
