Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, the institution announced its first annual event to raise awareness about the many contributions of Asian Pacific Americans, as well as announce the launch of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Keystone Initiative, which will begin fundraising for the first permanent Asian Pacific American gallery within the Smithsonian.
With a record 20 million Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) in the United States and with the fastest growth rate of any major racial or ethnic group, APAs have enriched the American experience for over 160 years. These stories, however, have not been collectively preserved nor celebrated in a permanent exhibition within the Smithsonian. Yet.
NOTE: It is always a good idea to verify date, time, location and other information prior to going.
