Want your family to participate in selfless volunteering this summer, while still having fun? Volunteer to become a foster for a dog in need!

Our dog rescue, Life4Paws, is a non-profit organization, that saves dogs from high-kill shelters and other hazardous situations in the greater Los Angeles area. We use a fostering system instead of boarding our dogs in kennels to ensure that they are used to a home environment, which makes for an easy transition when they are adopted by their forever families. We work closely with our fosters to get them a dog that fits well with their home: If you have children, we will find you a child friendly dog. If you have other pets, we will match you with a dog that will get along with them. You can also tell us what kind of temperament you are looking for, if you want your foster to be active and energetic or more mellow and low maintenance, and if you would like to foster a small or large dog. Becoming a foster with us means that you are a member of our team, and we will work with you to ensure the best possible outcome.

Fosters with our rescue:
*Pay nothing; all medical expenses including shots, microchipping, and spay/neuter surgery are taken care of by the rescue
*Are given food, a collar, and leash to care for their dog
*ARE EXPECTED TO DROP OFF THEIR DOGS AT OUR WOODLAND HILLS ADOPTIONS EVERY SUNDAY FROM 11-3
*Love and care for dogs in a home environment
*Keep dogs from being stuck in boarding all week

Reasons people foster:
*They are unsure if they are ready for the long-term commitment of adopting a dog
*They do not have the money to adopt a dog of their own
*They have recently lost a pet and want to ease back into dog ownership
*They are looking to do a random act of kindness!
Every day overcrowded shelters put healthy, friendly, and adoptable dogs to sleep, simply because of a lack of space. Now you can do something about it, without the long-term commitment of adopting. All of these dogs pictured, and more, are in desperate need of a temporary family. Email me today at samantha@life4paws.org to be an angel for a dog in need. Foster a dog, save a life!
