Village Well Books & Café hosts its inaugural author event with Culver City native son and RENT Poet Brian Sonia-Wallace. Sonia-Wallace, a graduate of Culver City High School, will read from his recently published book The Poetry of Strangers, and lead a real-time poetry writing session. Culver City Councilman Thomas Small, Poet Laureate Janet Hoult and Artist Laureate Alexey Steele will join the conversation about Culver City's literary, cultural and social history, welcoming the Village Well to that story.

Village Well owner Jennifer Caspar will take participants on a virtual tour of the store and share a sneak peek of the 20’ mosaic mural that features multiple Culver City landmarks. The mosaic, to be installed across the front of the coffee counter, includes several hearts and flowers created by CCUSD students from elementary to high school. Village Well is scheduled to open its physical doors in late November.
