PETER AND THE STARCATCHER
The Imaginative Prequel to Peter Pan –
A Delightful, Fantastical Journey the Whole Family Will Enjoy

7 Time Emmy Nominee Jane Kaczmarek Guest Stars as Black Stache
March 9 & March 10

Opens March 9, 2018

(Los Angeles, CA) (March, 2018). Theatre 360 Productions is proud to open our 2018 season with the charming, Tony Award-winning play Peter and the Starcatcher, the show The New York Times described as, “the most exhilarating Broadway storytelling in decades!” Based on the bestselling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and written by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker, Peter and the Starcatcher is the joyous prequel to the beloved story of Peter Pan. An epic origin story that is both hilarious and inspiring – Peter and the Starcatcher has touched the hearts of young and old as it lets their imaginations fly. This family-friendly play comes just in time for spring and runs March 9-18 at Pasadena’s own Theatre 360.

Special Guest Star
Announcing special Guest Star Jane Kaczmarek to perform as Black Stache for Theatre 360’s first weekend of performances. What might have been a sticky situation has turned into theater magic! Anders Keith, a five-year student of Theatre 360 and high school senior has been auditioning for college theatre programs around the nation, a few weeks ago Anders received a final callback for The Julliard School. The only catch was it being held over the first weekend of performances in New York city. Theatre 360’s Artistic Director, Devon Yates was thrilled and knew he could not pass up this opportunity started making phone calls about finding a replacement for the first weekend of shows. Current and alumni students of Theatre 360 were either not in the area or in their own school shows for the weekend needed. Reaching out to long time parent and friend Jane Kaczmarek, Devon posed the question, would you consider playing Black Stache? Jane happily agreed to fill in for the two performances and we couldn’t be more amazed at our good fortune for the students to work with the 7 time Emmy nominee, 3 time Golden Globe nominee, Yale graduate Jane Kaczmarek! Currently Ms. Kaczmarek and Anders Keith are rehearsing together with the cast of Peter and the Starcatcher three times weekly for their opening March 9th!

About The Show
Join a swashbuckling, mad-cap adventure aboard the good ship Neverland! Before Peter was Pan, he was just an orphan who didn’t like grown-ups. But his future changes forever when the lost boy boards a pirate ship, and we’re whisked away on a breathtaking adventure to answer the question: how did a boy named Peter become The Boy Who Never Grew Up? Fun for the whole family, the five-time Tony Award-winning show features sixteen actors playing more than 100 unforgettable characters. This innovative, hilarious, and imaginative prequel to Peter Pan will have you HOOKed the moment you let your imagination take flight. (Recommended for ages eight and up.)

What Can Theatre Teach Us?
Peter and the Starcatcher celebrates the art of theatrical storytelling and the power of imagination. It’s an ensemble piece, narrated by the entire company, in which places and effects spring to life before your eyes through simple and evocative staging and props. A sense of joy and wonder permeates the play. Scenically, we’ve created a simple, open space in which the actors can play. There’s a bare stage, a ladder, and some trunks. From these few items, we make magic. Through the power of language, and the manipulation of stage props, the stage becomes a ship, a dungeon, the ocean, or an island. Your imagination is the key.
